The Wheatsheaf, 46 High Street

The eastern part of the High Street, like so many of the streets and lanes of Harrold, is a cross-section of four centuries of historical and architectural styles. The corner with Carlton & Odell Roads was originally a toll gate. Beyond this is the 1951 Festival of Britain village sign, reminding us that then this was the start of the village. Edwardian, Victorian, Georgian and Jacobean styles then inter-mingle as you move towards the centre of the village, The Green.
